"Bran" here. Day 3: we went to the Great Wall of China today! It was over an hour drive so our guide Jason did some magic tricks for us on the bus and a little trivia. When we got to the Wall we had two options, the "easier" route to the right and a more difficult one two the left. Everyone chose the easy path and it was incredible. The Wall is massive and steep. After we explored the "easy" side, Kassie and Addie decided to also conquer the difficult side. You can see in the pics that the hand rail was less than helpful at some points. We're a little sore today, but not too bad. After that we visited a jade factory and had lunch. On the way back to the hotel we passed the Olympic Village and the Birdnest and the Water Cube as well as the only 7-star hotel in China which is shaped like a dragon. We got back and swam for a bit then we were all asleep by 6p.

At the Great Wall the kids were once again asked to be in pictures with the locals. haha. |

The Water Cube from the Beijing Olympics is on the right and the Bird’s Nest is behind it on the left. The Bird’s Nest is now used as a stadium for concerts and the Water Cube is now a huge indoor water park. |

only 7-star Hotel in China. It is the shape of a dragon, the head is the far side and the tail is here on the near side. This is across the street from the olympic village and apparently Bill Gates stayed here in the Penthouse during the olympics. |
